I am David Byrd, a Business Intelligence Developer with a background encompassing mixed methods research, data analytics, curriculum development in higher education, and web/mobile application development. Simply put, I love conducting research and utilizing statistics to make novel discoveries no matter the domain.

My journey in this field stemmed from an academic interest in psychology where my research focused primarily on attention, decision-making, and reward sensitivity theory. My graduate work investigated the moderating effect between factors predicting approach/avoidance behaviors and subjective well-being. Take a look at my thesis proposal here.

I have always focused my work on mental healthcare, and I find exploring the “how and why” behind people’s behaviors to be intrinsically motivating. When my fiancée and I are not travelling, I love to read, hike, and find a good cup of espresso.
